Abstract

Direct fluoroscopy has now become obsolete. In its place one should use an image tube in which the output phosphor is viewed by a high-grade optical system (intensifier fluoroscopy) or preferably by a television camera (video fluoroscopy). In video fluoroscopy it is possible to make a tape recording of the television signal without increasing the radiation dose.
