Improving Periodic Physicals in Women

Abstract

If properly organized, even a thorough physical examination can be speeded up. If the patient brings in her own urine specimen, records her history, writes her name on the frosted edge of a slide for the Pap smear, and fills out the return envelope, the physician has more time to ask questions, completely examine her, and explain the purpose and value of follow-up procedures.
