Abstract
In Norway a five year study was made of dietary treatment of 412 survivors of myocardial infarction, 206 in the experimental group and 206 in the control group. The total number of relapses, including sudden death, was 120 in the control group and only 80 in the group that received a diet providing 92 gm protein, 104 gm fat, and 269 gm carbohydrate, with a cholesterol content of 264 mg.
