Assessing Nonspecific T Wave Changes

Pages 174-177 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Many factors can produce T wave changes. To assess these changes in asymptomatic patients, the electrocardiogram should be repeated while the subject is in a fasting, resting, near-basal state and has not drunk coffee or smoked cigarettes. Changes persisting under these conditions in persons over 35 are associated with an increased incidence of heart disease.
