Abstract

Will too much or too little food or a lack of vitamins or protein cause heart disease? Yes. The fat person is more likely to have a large heart, and it may fail even if coronary disease, valvular disease and hypertension are absent. The fasting individual's heart works inefficiently, and patients with beriberi or kwashiorkor may have biventricular failure.
