Uremia and Abdominal Pain

Abstract

A 39 year old man was hospitalized with a history of chest pain, dyspnea and hypertension. Blood pressure was 260/130, pulse 140, and temperature 105° F. Test results included hemoglobin 6.6 gm, BUN 114 mg, and serum calcium 5.6 mg. Despite antibiotics, hemodialysis and intravenous calcium gluconate, he died after six days.
