The Rheumatic Diseases in Childhood

Abstract

In general the laboratory is only moderately helpful in identifying rheumatic diseases in children. Diagnosis depends on careful attention to clinical detail and sometimes on protracted observation. Direct cure is usually not possible but treatment based on correct diagnosis can make the difference between life and death or between severe disability and a productive life.
