Lecture 20: Upper-Extremity Amputations

, M.D.
Pages 237-240 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

What is most important with an upper-extremity prosthesis? Probably the ease with which the patient can hold, grasp, move and coordinate it. If he can do these things he will be able to feed himself, shave, comb his hair, and dress. But all this takes training-training which usually an occupational therapist should supervise.
