Abstract

Deprived of his immunologic apparatus, man would fall prey to microorganisms and might have more tumors. As it is, this apparatus preserves and protects the body's integrity. Experiments in animals have shown that occasionally, however, it overreacts and gives rise to anaphylaxis, the Arthus reaction, serum sickness or hypersensitivities.
