Abstract

Far too many patients have to “learn to live with” phlebitic sequelae because their thrombophlebitis was not treated adequately during the acute phase. lf edema occurs it must be controlled or it might initiate a chain reaction of recurrent erysipeloid leading ultimately to elephantiasis.
