Serum copper levels can be determined rapidly and accurately with atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Undoubtedly this will aid in earlier detection of Wilson's disease. There is also evidence that serial serum copper levels may be valuable in managing patients with Hodgkin's disease and acute leukemia.
