Esophageal Atresia

Abstract

Esophageal atresia is an anomaly well known to pediatricians. Treatment usually consists of a feeding gastrostomy, ligation of fistula, and direct anastomosis of the atretic esophagus. However, as this case illustrates, surgical correction often does not completely free the patient of symptoms, and he must learn to live with his dysfunctioning esophagus.
