Abstract
What the physician sees in a patient's ocular fundus may alert him to the presence of a blood disease. For example, retinal hemorrhages in the absence of hypertension and diabetes may be the first sign of a host of disorders. Thes include macrocytic anemias, polycythemias, hemoglobinopathies, leukemias, thrombocytopenia and dysproteinemias.
