Abstract

If a patient has high fever and lapses into shock, the physician must act quickly and vigorously. While getting chemical studies, blood counts and cultures, he must closely follow vital signs (including central venous pressure) and urinary output. Also, he has to give high doses of antibiotics and curet the uterine contents within hours. If she still does not respond, his next step is to remove the uterus.
