Obstruction of Pulmonary Airway

, M.D. (EDITOR)
Pages 67-69 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Nearly all cases of bronchial obstruction in early childhood are due to aspiration of a foreign body or mucus plugging. A two year old child was admitted to an emergency ward after aspiration of a piece of meat. However, an omission in the history resulted in an incorrect diagnosis of infectious asthma, which delayed proper treatment.
