Abstract
Surgical management of three diseases of the aortic root has improved considerably in the last 10 years. Results and prognosis are excellent following complete open heart repair of a fistula of a sinus of Valsalva. In supravalvular aortic stenosis surgical mortality is negligible when obstruction is localized. Improved operative technics have contributed to successful surgical management of the formidable aneurysms of the aortic root.
