Respiratory Distress In The Newborn

, M.D.
Pages 233-235 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

In respiratory distress in the newborn stemming from pulmonary abnormalities, hyaline membrane disease, meconium aspiration, and transient respiratory distress of the newborn are the most common diagnoses. Clinically, transient respiratory distress may mimic hyaline membrane disease and meconium aspiration. Roentgenographic examination is mandatory to differentiate the three conditions.
