Phenylketonuria 1969

Abstract

It is now thought that phenylketonuria often causes some brain damage no matter how early the diet is started. It is also recognized that phenylalanine deprivation can have grave consequences. The atypical forms of PKU pose especially difficult problems in diagnosis and therapy.
