Auditory Dysfunction Associated With Brain Impairment

, Ph.D.
Pages 83-85 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Damage to the temporal lobe of the brain does not impair auditory sensitivity unless the peripheral auditory mechanism is also damaged. Brain damage and ear damage can and often do coexist, but the auditory evidence for brain damage must be found in something other than hearing loss.
