Initial Care of Hand Injuries

, M.D.
Pages 179-182 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

How best to manage an acute hand injury depends on how much time has elapsed, what caused the injury, the appearance of the wound, how much tissue is crushed, the likelihood of contamination (at the time of injury or afterward), and what part of the hand is involved. Of these factors, elapsed time is one of the least important.
