Abstract

Electric injuries are invariably worse than they seem. Electric current passing through tissues generates extreme heat. The appearance of the wound can be very deceptive, with intact skin hiding massive tissue necrosis. Progressive tissue necrosis is the rule, and rarely is it possible to debride all the dead tissue by a single procedure.
