Abstract
In addition to the arrhythmias, common complications of acute myocardial infarction include heart failure, pulmonary edema, cardiogenic shock, embolism, heart murmurs, ventricular aneurysm, and postmyocardial infarction syndrome. Posthospital care of the patient with acute myocardial infarction involves an individual, progressive program of exercise and a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol with a moderate amount of polyunsaturated fat and carbohydrate.
