Chemotherapy of Solid Tumors

, M.D.
Pages 182-189 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

In the majority of solid malignant tumors, chemotherapy and hormonal therapy are only palliative. Nonetheless, drugs or hormones can bring worthwhile subjective and objective improvement. Every patient with a recurrent malignant process should be considered for chemotherapy, but strict guidelines must be followed in selection of patients. Those whose tumors are not responsive to chemotherapy should be considered candidates for investigational programs.
