How to Interpret Electrocardiographic Interpretations

First of Two Parts

, M.D.
Pages 243-246 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Electrocardiographic reports may vary depending on the interpreter's training and locale, information received about the patient, and other factors. However, if the interpreter uses confusing terminology, he contributes to the physician's misunderstanding of the report, which leads to problems in diagnosis and therapy. The common electrocardiographic interpretations and meanings discussed here should be helpful to the physician who uses the interpreter's services.
