Abnormal Uterine Bleeding

, M.D.
Pages 88-92 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Abnormal uterine bleeding can be defined as dysfunctional, but before this diagnosis is made, pregnancy, inflammation and neoplasm must be excluded. Complete physical examination, thorough history, and blood count are important diagnostic measures. Management by curettage and hormonal therapy is geared to control excessive bleeding and establish cyclicity.
