Abstract
We bring to old age a built-in system of self-depreciation, having thoroughly absorbed the notion that the elderly are unattractive, useless and meddlesome. The oldster's struggle to adapt and adjust to this hostile environment can give rise to various symptoms. A common example is memory failure.
