Abstract
In most cases, the physician can prevent jaundice of the newborn due to maternal isoimmunization by treating the mother with gamma globulin (anti-Rho). However, if isoimmunization does develop, monitoring antibody titers and the optical density of the amniotic fluid helps determine fetal prognosis and the optimal therapeutic technic.
