Abstract

Molluscum contagiosum is an autoinoculable viral infection that can be mistaken for basal cell carcinoma or keratoacanthoma. Histologic examination will confirm the diagnosis. Any method of treatment that destroys the molluscum lesion without scarring is acceptable.
