Abstract
So far all the evidence indicates that being pregnant is more dangerous than using the Pill. If the alternative is pregnancy, the safer choice seems obvious. A key factor may be the unacceptability to the patient of another form of contraception. The statistical data have yielded some clues to susceptibility to serious complications, and high-risk categories are emerging.
