Abstract

Among endocrine diseases, few afflict so many organ systems as Cushing's syndrome; yet, few respond so dramatically when the initiating lesion is removed. In this case, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hirsutism, heart failure and osteoporosis were present. However, even after almost total removal of the adrenal glands, signs and symptoms recurred and the patient died from consequences of the syndrome.
