Abstract

Too many coronary patients still do not reach a hospital as soon as they should. Once there, however, all should be treated in coronary care units (or cardiac intensive care units). The greatest advantages of treatment in such units are prevention, early recognition, and prompt treatment of life-threatening complications, especially the arrhythmias.
