Abstract

“Availability of quality care” is the key phrase in the Regional Medical Programs' mandate. Early in the Maine Program, planners decided to involve the practicing medical community. Significant steps have been taken to provide quality coronary care in the smallest hospital, continuing medical education, and a state renal dialysis program. A hospital coordinator plan is helping this chiefly rural state realize its goals.
