, M.D.
Pages 151-155 | Published online: 16 May 2016

Abstract

Clinically, immunosuppressive therapy is quite new, much of the experience having been gained in the field of organ transplantation. Many lessons are yet to be learned. Analysis of the cellular events that follow antigenic stimulation and the patterns of immunologic tissue injury gives insight into the mechanisms of action of the agents used to alter the immune response and suggests possible new methods and applications.
