Abstract

The clergyman figures prominently in the care of the terminally ill patient by providing needed spiritual support and guidance. Medicolegal aspects assume particular significance because radical treatment is often necessary. The hardest question the physician faces is what to do when a patient near death is being kept “alive” by measures that were started at a time when there was still hope of recovery.
