Abstract

Early treatment of clubfoot usually results in an essentially normal foot. Artificial aids for function may be of value in amyoplasia congenita. In mild cases, stretching of tight structures may be helpful. Muscle-strengthening exercises may improve joint stability in cutis hyperelastica; braces may be needed for walking. Numerous reports claim that in most cases, early proper treatment of congenital dislocation of the hip results in a relatively normal acetabulum without dislocation.
