Planning for Hospital Emergency Services

, M.D.
Pages 223-227 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

An increasing number of patients are using hospital emergency rooms as drop-in clinics. Several approaches and innovations are suggested here for solving this problem to the benefit of both the patient and the hospital. Among the suggestions is the establishment of the triage system. If patient needs are to be properly met, a great deal of planning for the development of emergency services will be required in the future.
