Abstract
Aneurysms of the pulmonary artery and its branches are rare. These aneurysms may be associated with congenital heart defects or with development of bacterial endocarditis, septic pulmonary emboli, syphilis, cystic medionecrosis, or pulmonary hypertension. Pulmonary angiography usually is diagnostic. Pulmonary artery aneurysms often result in fatal hemorrhage unless removed surgically.
