Abstract

The confrontation problem-solving technic seems to meet the criteria for successful and practical psychotherapy for the elderly patient. Its suitability lies in the problem-solving rather than the coercive or permissive approach and in the ease with which it can be applied to treat persons with widely varied intelligence levels, functional or organic disease, social standing and ethnicity.
