Abstract

In five years, 85 patients with liver injury were treated in the Fresno General Hospital. Almost half the injuries were blunt wounds, and this group accounted for six of the eight deaths in the series. The relatively low mortality rate is attributed to aggressive treatment with prompt surgical intervention.
