Abstract

Certainly birth is a safer process today than it was some 50 years ago. However, there is no room for complacence as long as babies sustain severe, sometimes permanent neurologic damage during delivery or just afterward. In report after report, breech delivery and forceps are named as major factors contributing to birth injuries.
