Abstract
Galactorrhea is not a disease, but is rather a symptom of an underlying disorder with potentially serious endocrinologic and physical ramifications. It can be associated with many conditions; thus an exact diagnosis is necessary for specific treatment. When accurate diagnosis is impossible, close follow-up is advised. Some cases appear amenable to treatment, with a fair prognosis for childbearing and a fair remission rate. However, the recurrence rate after pregnancy is high.
