Abstract
Current treatment of arthritis involves many old and new drugs, including chloroquines, gold, indomethacin, phenylbutazone, adrenocortical steroids, cyclophosphamide and others. Salicylates, however, remain the chief medication in a program of total management of the arthritis patient. Success with salicylates depends on use of a high-dosage schedule.
