Abstract

On the waiting list for a treatment effective against coronary artery disease are at least three million Americans. It appears that at last we have a weapon to deal with this major killer. If direct revascularization of the myocardium lives up to expectations, this operation will become more common than tonsillectomy or herniorrhaphy.
