Abstract

A systematic plan is especially helpful in analyzing cardiac arrhythmias. By a general inspection of a given electrocardiogram, one can tell if an arrhythmia is simple, complex, benign or serious. Determining whether or not sinus beats are present is immensely helpful. Knowledge of the presence or absence of P waves narrows the diagnostic possibilities appreciably.
