Ambulatory Care for Children: Role of the Teaching Hospital

, M.D.
Pages 150-154 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Health care for children is chiefly ambulatory pediatrics. The experimental study reported here shows that when ambulatory pediatrics is a part of family-focused health care delivered in a continuity setting, the service provides effective care at low cost and to the satisfaction of the patient. Results of the study suggest that this type of comprehensive care should be reproduced on a large scale, replacing the current methods of episodic, fragmented care.
