Abstract
Some of the technics of flexible fiber endoscopy are still in early stages of development, but the new instruments hold promise of diagnostic importance. An esophagogastroscope 1,050 mm in length makes possible visualization of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenal bulb. Duodenoscopy with cannulation of the papilla of Vater is a new technic of retrograde cholangiography or pancreatography. New colonoscopes are long enough for endoscopic examination of the entire colon.
