Complications of Head Injuries in Childhood

, M.D.
Pages 130-134 | Published online: 16 May 2016

Abstract

This report is directed primarily to nonsurgeons and emphasizes recognition rather than management of complications of head injuries. Most head-injured children treated in general hospitals are under the care of general physicians and pediatricians. The degree of recovery or even survival may depend on how quickly surgery is undertaken, and the nonsurgeon must recognize surgical complications as soon as possible.
