Families Under Stress

Abstract

Families of children who have certain inborn errors of metabolism are subjected to great stress and have need for professional counseling. Analysis of the adaptation of three families who had children with Hurler's syndrome reflects the problems encountered, as well as the influence of the families' individual strengths and values, and the effectiveness of supportive counseling programs.
