Abstract

Few efforts have been made to define the knowledge and skills required in providing primary health care. This study of a series of 284 patients at a university rural health center in northern Florida attempted to identify patients' reasons for seeking medical care and to analyze the physician's responses to their needs. A method of collecting these data, which are easily processed by computer, is presented.
