Abstract

A physician who prescribes antihypertensive drugs for a patient with renovascular disease must assume the responsibility for close follow-up. Many factors must be considered in deciding for or against surgical intervention. Among them are age, duration of hypertension, coexisting diseases, nature and extent of the renal artery lesion, and significance of the lesion in the genesis of blood pressure elevation.
